Ergonomics & Wine!

We were able to combine our Directors expertise this week & offer Wine Tasting as part of our Products & Services Showcase Week!

Angela Harrison is WSET 3 (Wine & Spirits Education Trust) & Cert.Ed qualified. She’s travelled the world extensively visiting vineyards & meeting the winemakers & loves to share  her passion for all things wine. She’s Co-Director of Vine Savvy Ltd as well as her role at Total Back Care.

Visitors to our Showcase Event were able to hone their tasting skills & compete in Wine Quizzes alongside practical demonstrations of the importance of selecting ergonomic equipment correctly on an individual basis.

On offer was a ‘Very Good’ Benjamin Darnault Pique Nique Rose 2017 from Grenache grapes grown high in the Langeuedoc hills of Southern France.  Judged to be in the top 19% of wines in the world, it’s fresh, fruity (crushed strawberry, ripe raspberry, whiff of rosehip) off dry & suitable for Vegan & Vegetarian drinkers.  Pairs well with lean fish & pasta dishes or simply as an aperitif.

The white offering was a blend of Venezie grapes from Stefano di Blasi – Bianco Trevenezie 2017. Intensely fresh & clean, distinctively fruity & flavoursome compared to other Italian whites.  Well balanced with medium length, medium acidity, off sweet.  Pairs well with Fish & Salad dishes.  Overall a ‘Good’ wine.

Star of the show was the Hacienda Don Hernan Rioja Reserva 2011. An ‘Outstanding’ example of a Spanish Tempranillo with every mouthful brimming with fresh ripe summer strawberries & hints of savoury warming black pepper.  Winemaker Rodolfo Bastida has let this wine rest for the optimum time in oak barrels to give it a gorgeously creamy finish – with just a dash of caramel and cedar wood for that extra WOW!  Pairs beautifully with grilled lamb chops & other red meats.  It is suitable for Vegan & Vegetarian drinkers & can be enjoyed now or laid down for a further ten years.

It’s back to ergonomics for our team next week but we’ve enjoyed sharing our wider knowledge with some of our lovely clients.  Maybe we need to do it again?!
