Neurodiversity Within The Workplace

Neurodiversity can be described as differences in brain function across individuals that affects daily mental functions. This can present as a spectrum and be viewed as more moderate to severe.

From our years of Consultation experience at Total Back Care, we are welcoming more clients who are both neurodiverse (many diagnosed as adults) and in need of specialist back care equipment. Not only do musculoskeletal issues present challenges to clients within the workplace, but so do an array of conditions such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyspraxia.

It is important to address all these areas and provide solutions that have a positive impact upon the individual. Recent Consultation examples include addressing sensory issues by looking at certain chair fabrics or the texture of mice and keyboards when trialled in our showrooms.

We ourselves at Total Back Care have first hand knowledge of many neurodiverse conditions and you will find our team very empathetic.

Despite the struggles, it is important to celebrate Neurodiversity and ensure workplaces are accommodating of people’s needs and backgrounds.
